The executive order issued by President Donald Trump in January 2025 froze federal budgets exceeding $3 trillion for program review of diversity and equity programs along with environmental initiatives. Multiple services including Medicaid payments and educational programs and health care research came under the freeze created by this executive order. Throughout different parts of the public sector widespread disturbances and disarray occurred after this executive order took effect.
